Never satisfied with being a bystander, our MD, Geoff Block, is driven by producing top quality products to our clients. He thrives on pushing the boundaries of design, interaction technology, recycling and the promotion of alternative fuels educational technology which inspires and educates future mechanical engineers.
With this in mind, Block Automotive have taken delivery of their first Hydrogen vehicle which is destined to be enrolled in our latest design and build program which will see us produce the world’s first fully interactive hydrogen training rig.
The Toyota MIRIA is a fully Hydrogen operated motor vehicle emitting nothing but ‘water’ from the tailpipe which is perpetuated by pioneering hydrogen fuel cell technology that is destined to revolutionise the way we drive. As we all consider alternative fuel vehicles, it is worth considering that with every mile driven with an ALTERNATIVE fuelled vehicle, it is one mile closer to a Zero Tailpipe Emissions environment. This makes our mission to reduce our global carbon footprint more achievable creating a greener environment whilst embracing our inner ECO HEART
This will be a world’s first and as such the meticulous planning and strategy is being very carefully planned by the new projects TEAM. Our planning team is being led by Geoff Block and the construction team will work through every aspect of the car’s design, structure, and application to create a build program that looks to achieve the very best from the vehicle whilst embracing and protecting its integrity.
The Road Trip ahead
We are excited about this new project and have already spent many hours researching and planning all aspects of the build. Health and Safety is a priority in everything we do, so the time that we have invested in the design and build strategy is critical to the overall delivery of excellence on this project. The TEAM have worked hard on the design building plan with risk assessment and detailed method statement to mitigate risk and ensure we produce a first-rate product in the same fashion as we currently do with all our other rigs.
The design and planning stage is a critical factor to ensure a seamless process that produces an excellent piece of equipment that will deliver at multiple levels ensuring the best experience for the student
In recent months we have all seen an increasing amount of publicity in respect of the hydrogen revolution which our revered Prime Minister, Boris Johnson is super keen to see the UK in pole position as he works towards making the UK a ‘World Leader’ for hydrogen vehicles, as we see more fuel cell vehicle hitting the market.
Of course, it is not just the PM who is showing commitment to this new and exciting journey, even The Prince of Wales was recently spotted driving a British made Hydrogen vehicle.
The Hydrogen revolution follows closely on the heels of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles, and we will see in coming years companies looking to revolutionise their fleets with fuel cell technology, which will make them market leaders in the Eco challenge to provide transport and delivery solutions that are both efficient and environmentally sensitive, recognising the need to embrace and promote a viable alternative fuel source for transport of all kinds.
Considering the Hydrogen Option
We have had many conversations with clients in respect of their appetite for this type of training unit and we are quietly confident that the huge amount of work ahead of us will be justified as there are many interested parties already registering on our site for a chance to view the first training units when available.
Driven by the enormous global shift for a cleaner and greener planet that cares for the environment and all those who reside here. We are all aware of the need to promote and embrace this new technology for the long term ‘greater good of the planet’
As with the Hybrid and Electric Vehicle trainers we have seen many organisations looking at the training solutions we build. In the past 18 months orders have mushroomed seeing Block producing many new Hybrid and Electric Vehicle training rigs to satisfy the ECO demand.
In the same way, we are already aware that there will be a significant requirement for training centres to acquire the new market-leading Hydrogen Vocational training rig. They are charged with staying ahead of the trending marketplace and staying ahead of the competition. In doing so they will help define the structure of the Mechanical training courses and Vocational education for the years to come, as we move forward in the evolving awareness of environmental care and stewardship.
